: Lake Louise & Morraine Lake Weddings

We received our photos!!  They are amazing, I am so happy with them!   We would like some information about the books that can be created from the photos that we select from our proofs album.  We are leaning towards a book for us, one for my mom, one for my dad and one for Brad's dad.    Thanks, talk to you soon!!  -  Shana & Brad

anada's "Diamond in the Wilderness," Lake Louise has been called the "Hiking Capital of Canada". Offering wonderful recreational and sightseeing opportunities it also boasts one of North America's finest downhill ski areas and, of course, the Chateau Lake Louise, companion hotel to the Banff Springs, with its mountain-guiding heritage and glorious setting.

Even after almost two decades of photographing couples there Lake Louise still holds me enthralled. The deep blue green of its glacier fed waters and the backdrop of snowy peaks and towering glaciers makes it a very romantic location for weddings. I’ll never forget encountering one groom’s father on a blue August afternoon as he stood on the terrace before the ceremony began, staring down the lake, mouth agape. Three hours before he had gotten off a plane from Chicago, with only a hazy notion of where he would end up that day.

Winter spring summer or fall, the lake is stunning at any time of day. Weddings can take place in the Chateau, on the lake shore or meadow above the lake, or in winter on the frozen lake by the famous ice castle. Location location location realtors like to say. Lake Louise has it all and makes every wedding memorable.

A short detour on the way up to Lake Louise brings you to Moraine Lake, made famous for many years because it appeared on the back of the Canadian five dollar bill. The deep turquoise of its waters vies with those of neighbouring Lake Louise, and the famous Ten peaks tower above. More suited to smaller weddings (.....because of the limited parking and also the scarcity of flat places to stand! ) most couples opt for a morning wedding on the rockpile at the head of the lake.
